Singing, Snakes and More Summer Fun

The girls' choir (One Voice Children's Choir -- by far away the greatest thing I have my kids participating in) sang in two outdoor festivals last Saturday. The KSL/FM100 Family Fair at the Gateway and the Millcreek Venture Festival. They had a great time singing their patriotic songs and then wandering around the festivals. I forgot my camera at the KSL one at the Gateway, but here are some of the highlights of the day.

There was an exotic animal display... you'll notice there isn't a picture of me anywhere near the snakes.

Cameron even petted the 24-foot python... although he wouldn't go near its head or let us wrap the yellow around his neck. I guess he got a little bit of Grandma Wall's snake phobia!

Lauren and Kenzi both ventured up the climbing wall. Cameron wanted nothing to do with that part of the day!

Summer Fun

One of the kids favorite summer parks is Liberty Park.

Cruis'n with Grandpa!

Lauren, Kenzi and Grandpa cruised in Grandpa's 1975 Chevy Malibu at Bountiful City Coats for Kids. Well... they didn't do a lot of cruising because it wasn't very well organized, but they did get to drive up and down Main Street a few times in the cool car.

Rock climbing, face painting and Marie Callendar's pie made it a great time for all!!!

Cameron ... from Wall to Hess with one shave!!!

As many of you know, Cameron is well known for his long, thick locks of hair. .. (much to the dismay of his grandparents.)

As much as I love his hair, last summer it looked so hot, was always in his eyes and really needed to be pulled back in a pony tail during swimming lessons.

Dave decided if we were going to cut it short, we would go for the all out buzz. So Cam and Dad had a father/son haircut night in the garage. We all sat around and watched and Cameron thought he was so cool.

He looks soooo different now. Everyone has always said he looks just like the Wall/Bevans, particularly my brother Scott and his Josh and Jordan and my nephew Doug. When he came in from getting his head shaved, he suddenly went from looking just like the Walls/Bevans to looking just like Dave. I have some pictures of Dave at 3-5 and Cameron now looks just like him. (However he still has my nose and lips!!!)

He loves the attention that comes with the shaved head and the fact that nobody recognizes him. A neighbor was even at our house and asked me who the little boy was.

Fireplace Fun with Dad... or Cutting Phone Lines 101

Our landscaping dad is at it again... creating more fun the in the backyard for the kids. (I'm not sure anything can top the cool tire swing he did last summer while I was at Youth Conference... but the kids are pretty excited about this one. )

They all spent the day buying rocks, digging, cutting the phone lines, working with the repairman to reattach the phone lines and designing phase one of Dave's fire pit/patio. Lauren and Cameron didn't leave his side the entire day.

We enjoyed a grass fire marshmellow roasting that night (or a smoky, semi-hot mess) and did a real mini-fire and smore's with our friends the Roberts for FHE tonight.
