Oh What Did We Do in the Summertime...

Dinosaur park, play groups, Bees Baseball, family Sunday dinners, homemade ice cream, lemonade stands, crazy plays, swimming, soccer and more soccer, Cameron doing great in karate, climbing trees, tire swing, fires in the backyard, catching bugs, bowling and forgetting to return the shoes, family reunions, fun at the lake, baptisms for the dead, outdoor festivals, hikes for FHE, cabin, Olympic Park, Kennecott Copper, Girl's Camp planning, Girl's Camp Meetings, choir performances, Girl's Camp preparing and oh yeah Girl's Camp, biking, Lagoon, Cowabunga Bay, Monopoly Deal and lots of imagination!!!

6th Grade Graduation... what happened to my little baby!!??!!

Lauren getting her "fastest mile" award. Loved it when someone yelled "you go girl" as the 2nd and 3rd place boys stood by watching her get the 1st place award.

Why My Kids Make Me Laugh!!

Kenzi: So creative and can come up with a solution for any issue. Example: today while mopping the floor she put plastic bags on her feet. She hates the feel of her feet getting wet and she doesn't want to get footprints on the floor.

Example 2: She has a very good sense of smell and has no tolerance for smells she doesn't like. A few years ago when we ate something for dinner that had a bad smell (to her)... she duct taped her nose so she couldn't smell it.



Lauren: She loves to make a big deal of birthdays, holidays and celebrations. It was Max the cat's alleged birthday on Friday. She made him a cake with tuna and cat food, along with the tuna juice in a silver cup. She put a candle in the middle of the tuna and took him his "cake and drink" with the candle lit. Of course every time he got near the candle it would about singe his fur and he would jump back... I must say it was pretty funny. The kids finally blew out the candle and he drank his juice and enjoyed every bite of the cake.

Cameron: Sweet, sensitive little man that wants every one to be happy and always follow the rules. (As a soul mate buddy... you got a long life ahead of you.)

His 1st grade teacher told me she was having a bad day and the kids weren't listening and it was obvious she wasn't happy. He came up to her and said "Miss Arthur, you are a really good teacher and are doing a really good job." She said it is so obvious he wants people to feel happy and doesn't like it if someone is feeling bad.

Example 2: I have a stash of candy bars for a YW thing and I've told the kids (and Dave) not to eat them until I was done with them. Dave got a couple of them out the other night and Cameron kept telling him that he shouldn't be doing that and I wouldn't be happy! When I got home and was teasing them about it he made it very clear that he had objected and tried to stop dad. Mr. "rules are general guidelines for me" Dave and Cameron definitely don't see eye to eye!!!

I also love to watch his imagination. A few Sundays ago Val called me and Cam was out in the front yard having a war with himself. Throwing a shield and sticks and acting out an entire war... love that little boy!

Heber Valley -- Ward Campout

Just enjoyed another fun night at Heber Valley Girl's Camp. I love that place! The leaves were just gorgeous -- I seriously just about drove off the road looking at them. Despite the no fire, trouble with a tree and the window incident -- we had a great time!!

(A little tired tonight thank you Emily, Lauren and Christian... and the Laurel's bear prank at Piuta and the Scout's toothpaste prank at boy's camp that are jokes that just keep on giving and giving and giving! Cam is a little tired too. The last picture is of Cameron waiting for me to come and kiss him goodnight... he couldn't even make it into his room before he fell asleep!)

And Kenzi, you are the only person I know that take "decorations" for a one night campout. Love you!

I Look so Different ... 1st Tooth

Cam finally lost his 1st tooth at almost 6 1/2 years old!!!! He has been waiting forever... most of his friends have lost several and for over a year he has watched them be excited and come to school with more holes in their mouths.

Somehow he got the idea in his head that he wanted his first tooth to come out by tying dental floss around his tooth and a door knob -- and slamming the door shut.

About a month ago his front tooth finally started to loosen up and almost every day he would ask if he could "slam the door."

It was really loose today and I told him when his dad got home he could "do the dental floss thing." Just before bed he asked Dave if he would help him with the dental floss and Dave said "come here, let me just look at it and then you can go grab the floss."

Open mouth, wiggle tooth... YANK!!! The tooth was gone.

That sneaky Dad pulled it before Cam knew what had happened. (This all occurred while Lauren was not in the room because she would have warned him that if Dave says he is checking to see how loose it is, he is really getting ready to pull the tooth. Let's just say Lauren learned very early on not to trust Dave when he says he is just looking...)

We took the picture and Cam looked at it and declared, "I look so much different now!"
